Our favourite Turkish food and drinks. We enjoyed beautiful breakfasts, sensational sweets, tasty tea and much more. We had a very delicious trip.
We enjoyed our few days in Ankara more than expected. While it’s not Istanbul, we filled our days with mausoleums, mosques and museums in Turkey’s capital.
We take to the skies of Cappadocia on a hot air balloon adventure. It was a beautiful morning floating in the skies with hundreds of balloons around us.
There’s no doubt Cappadocia is a unique part of the world. We visited the usual sites and also hiked the weird and wonderful valleys, full of crazy sights.
A visit to Gaziantep is all about food. We ate baklava, katmer, lahmacun & more. When we were full, we wandered the markets to look at more food. A great city!
Mount Nemrut is an amazing UNESCO heritage site, dating from 1BC. With all the grandeur you’d expect from King who thought he was equal to the gods.
Regarded as one of the most exciting archaeological sites in the world, Gobekli Tepe might just change our views on history as we know it. Find out more.
Who knew pigeons could be so beautiful! We spent an amazing time on a rooftop in Sanliurfa with some local pigeon fanciers, meeting their pigeons.
Sanliurfa ended up being our favourite town in Turkey. We loved the people, the alleyways, the markets, the bazaar, the fish pond, the mosques – and so much more.
..soon you won’t. Soon the beautiful ancient town of Hasankeyf will be underwater. We’re glad we got to visit before it disappears.
