Kars is so much more than a place to stay while you visit Ani. It’s the perfect town to wander and watch daily Turkish life happening all around you.

We visit Barhal for some hiking in the Kackar Mountains. After a rocky start, we hike through small villages, climb the mountain tops and visit old ruins.
We head into the Kackar Mountains to a remote village called Barhal. Off the beaten track, we discover a hidden gem! The perfect place to get away.
Saying goodbye to the coast, we headed inland to visit isolated and peaceful Sumela Monastery. Built on the side of a cliff, high up the side of a mountain.
The last leg of our Black Sea Coast road trip – Trabzon, Uzungol and Rize. Uzungol is so beautiful it features in almost all Turkish travel brochures. You’ll see why.
